Link in Bio Tools Compared on Cost, Branding and Data Export

Link in bio tools scored on one scorecard: paid price, free-plan limits, custom domain, branding removal, sales fees and what you can export when you leave.

By Updated Data checked through 4 min read

The best link in bio tool on our scorecard is Taplink at 100 out of 100, ahead of Carrd by 1 points. The list is close at the top, so the choice comes down to what you sell, whether you need your own domain and what you can export.

How we picked

A link in bio page is small, so the differences that matter are easy to miss: whether the free plan carries the vendor's branding, whether your own domain costs extra, whether the tool takes a cut when someone buys through your page, and whether you can export your links and subscribers when you leave. The scorecard puts those next to the price. Details are on the methodology page.

Every one of the 40 link in bio tools we looked at is scored by the same 8 criteria (scorecard version 2), each from the vendor's own pricing page, docs or changelog. 31 had enough verified data to be ranked. A criterion without verified data is left out and the remaining weights are re-normalised; under 60% of the weight covered means the tool is not ranked.

Scorecard criteria, weights and what each measures
CriterionWeightTypeWhat we measure and how
Entry price25%CorePrice per month of the cheapest paid plan, against the prices of other link in bio tools on the same billing basis (monthly-billed prices against monthly, annual-billed against annual).Formula: Log scale. Billed monthly: $2.99/month or less = 100, $27 or more = 0. Only billed annually: $2.42/month or less = 100, $21 or more = 0. Only free plans = 100. Usage-priced and one-time plans are not scored.
Free plan or trial15%CoreWhether you can use the tool before paying: a free plan, or failing that a free trial, as shown on the vendor's pricing page.Formula: Free plan = 100. No free plan but a free trial = 60. The pricing page lists plans but shows neither = 0. No plans read = not scored.
Pricing transparency10%CoreHow much of the pricing is public: the share of plans with a published price ("contact sales" counts against), and whether there are at least 3 published tiers.Formula: 80 x (plans with a public price / plans listed) + 20 x (public plans, up to 3) / 3. No plans read = not scored.
Verified features15%CoreHow many of the 7 features we track for this category the vendor's own pages verifiably show (custom domain, click analytics, sell products or take payments, email capture, scheduled links, remove vendor branding, link tracking (utm)). This counts verified features only: a tool that documents less scores lower here, and only here.Formula: Linear: verified features / 4 (half the tracked list) x 100, capped at 100. No tracked feature verified = not scored.
API, integrations and export10%CoreWhether a public API exists, how many integrations the vendor states, and whether the vendor documents a way to export your data.Formula: Average of the parts with data: public API yes = 100, no = 0; integrations on a log scale (50 or more = 100); a documented data export = 100. None verified = not scored.
Free plan limits10%CategoryWhat the free plan allows: links (full marks at 20).Formula: Each stated limit linear up to its full mark (unlimited = 100), averaged. Tools without a free plan, or whose free plan states none of these limits, are not scored here.
Links on paid plans10%CategoryLinks included on the cheapest paid plan that states a limit.Formula: Log scale: 100 or more (or unlimited) = 100. No stated limit = not scored.
Fee on sales5%CategoryThe percentage of each sale the platform keeps, as the vendor states it (the cheapest paid plan that states a fee).Formula: Linear, lower is better: 0% = 100, 10% or more = 0. No stated fee = not scored.

Read the table for price and free-plan limits first, then look at coverage. A tool with low coverage can score high because the criteria it was checked on went well, which is why a leader with missing prices deserves a second look on its pricing page. Some tools also appear in the URL shorteners category because they shorten links as well; the link in bio category lists them all.

Each value links the vendor page it was read from (hover for the check date). Coverage is the share of the scorecard's weight with verified data, and "N of M criteria" how many criteria the score is based on; a tool is ranked at 60% or more.

Score is 0 to 100 on the category scorecard; coverage is the share of scorecard weight with verified data. Prices are list prices in US dollars from each vendor's pricing page; the Checked column is the newest date any fact of that tool was verified. 9 listed without a score because under 60% of the weight has verified data. How the score works: methodology.

How to choose by what you do

A creator who sells nothing and wants a tidy page is well served by a free plan, so compare free-plan limits first: biolink.page lists 5 pages, 100 links and Lenkli lists 25 links. Someone who sells products or bookings should compare the fee on each sale, because the subscription is the small part of the bill when the vendor takes a percentage.

A brand or small business that cares about its address should check custom domain and branding removal together, since a vendor can offer one on a free plan and reserve the other for a paid tier. Finally, anyone who expects to change tools should read the export line for each tool. Only some vendors state one, and a page you cannot export has to be rebuilt by hand if you leave.

Taplink leads the table on features: custom domain, branding removal, scheduled links, link analytics, commerce and email capture are all listed as available. The catch is that our catalogue has no verified paid price for it, so the score rests on features and not on cost. Open its pricing page before you rely on the rank.

Carrd is a one-page site builder that works as a link in bio page, and its pricing is short: a free plan and one paid plan billed yearly. That suits someone who wants a page that looks like a small website, not a stack of buttons, and who would rather pay once a year than monthly.

LinkStack is the tool to check if you care most about keeping a copy of your page: it lists an export of links and settings, and its entry plan starts at $1 per month.

Who should not pick it

  • Anyone selling products through the page should not pick Milkshake without running the numbers: its free-plan fee is 12 percent.
  • Anyone who needs a verified price before committing should hold off on Taplink: its paid price is not verified in our catalogue.
  • Teams that need a shared page should check Campsite first: its two-user plan is $14 per month.
  • Anyone who wants more than a handful of links on the free plan should avoid Lenkli: its free plan is limited to 25 links.
  • Anyone with a large list of bulk short links should look at Bitly instead of a page builder: its free plan caps links at 50 links.

What we did not test

We did not build a page on any of these tools, so nothing here describes how a page loads, how the editor feels, how accurate the click counts are or how quickly support replies. The scores come from vendor pricing and feature pages and are computed by code, which means a tool can list a feature we cannot verify works well. Branding on free plans is described only where the vendor says so. See what we did not test.

– = not published by the vendor, or not verified yet.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free link in bio tool?

Yes, several list a free plan. SyncMyLinks lists unlimited links on its free plan, Campsite lists unlimited links, and biolink.page lists 5 pages, 100 links. A free plan can still carry a branded footer or a sales fee, so read the plan details.

Do link in bio tools take a cut of sales?

Some do. Milkshake lists a transaction fee of 12 percent on its free plan and 9 percent on its $6.99 per month plan. If you sell through your page, that fee matters more than the subscription.

Can I use my own domain on a link in bio page?

Custom domain support is a scored feature. Carrd lists custom domains as Yes and Campsite lists them as Yes. Check whether the feature sits on a paid plan before you build around it.

What happens to my links if I switch tools?

It depends on what the tool lets you export. LinkStack lists links and settings, and Campsite lists analytics data as a .csv file. Tools with no listed export mean rebuilding your page by hand.

Which of the link in bio tools ranks first on SaaSHunter?

Taplink has the highest score, 100 out of 100, among the 31 link in bio tools with enough verified data to be ranked. Its facts were last checked Oct 14, 2026. Scores are computed from the published scorecard and change when the underlying facts change.

Which link in bio tools have a free plan?

22 of the 31 ranked link in bio tools list a free plan: Taplink, Carrd, biolink.page, Komi, Milkshake, SyncMyLinks, Campsite, Lenkli, Buffer, LinkStack, Hoo.be, Ayo, Cutt.ly, BoringOnePage, Bitly, Replug, Rebrandly, Reachlee, Followrs, Sailo, Wahlu, Planoly. What the free plan allows differs, so check the limits column before choosing.

What is the lowest starting price among link in bio tools?

Among the ranked link in bio tools, LinkStack has the lowest paid starting price at $1 per month. Tools charge per seat, per connected account or per workspace, so the units differ and the lowest sticker price is not always the lowest bill for your setup.

How are the link in bio tools scored?

Each tool is scored from 0 to 100 on 8 weighted criteria taken from the same scorecard for every tool: entry price, free plan or trial, pricing transparency, verified features, api, integrations and export, free plan limits, links on paid plans, fee on sales. Criteria without verified data are left out and the weights re-normalised; a tool with under 60% of the weight covered is listed as not ranked.
